- Fascinating. Hard to recommend, due to so many festivals centered around animal cruelty. Beautifully made, in contrast to much of what you're seeing. 📽
- Far From the Trees (1972) Jacinto Esteva Grew (director) Starting into the Exorcismo box set with a documentary on what the description calls 'a chilling introduction to cruelty and violence as part of Spanish traditions... capturing bizarre festivities and rituals.' 📽 #SeverinFilms #Exorcismo

- As I often do with these sets, I'm saving the documentary that kicks off the set for last. It's titled Exorcismo: The Transgressive Legacy of Clasificada 'S' and will contain some spoilers for movies I haven't seen (and many I haven't even heard of).
- L'Immortelle (1963) Alain Robbe-Grillet (writer/ director) His first feature film, released two years after Last Year at Marienbad, which he wrote. Similar to Marienbad, the style and structure are presented in a mysterious and non-linear narrative style. 📽 #Filmsky
- An eerie and mysterious film, 142 minutes, all in one take, but weaving through multiple characters, seamlessly shifting back and forth in time. Many characters are gathered for a kite flying event, some perhaps overlapping from the past, and also present are a group of murderers. 1/2 📽
- Fish & Cat (2013) Shahram Mokri (writer/ director) An Iranian mystery/ horror movie inspired by a restaurant that had served human flesh. Mokri often plays with non-linear narrative in ways that consistently subvert the viewer's grasp of the plot. 📽 #Filmsky #HorrorMovies #Horror
- Some scenes play multiple times, approached from different perspectives, and viewed in new angles. It's a hall of mirrors or an Escher painting. I think I've found a new obsession movie. One I'll be revisting in the same way I revisit Lynch's films. It's got some powerful mood. 2/2 📽

- Knives of the Avenger (1966) Mario Bava (co-writer/ director) Originally directed by Leopoldo Savona, Bava rewrote and reshot to complete the production. It's a viking movie that plays and feels like a western. I saw it ages ago but don't remember much. 📽 #MarioBava #Filmsky
- I liked this quite a bit. I found the plotting more intricate than the prior two in the box. There's still a bit of humor, mainly in the character of Cabby Pennypacker, man of many disguises. The cinematography is terrific. It's got some great set pieces and a surprising finale. Check a look!
- Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom (1973) Suzuki Norifumi (director) Time for Pinky Violence. Three new girls at the prison/school are gonna cause some glorious mayhem. 📽 #PinkyViolence #Filmsky
- Yeah, that's real good. Steady procedural that escalates to a pretty wild finale. 📽
- The Great Kidnapping (1973) Roberto Infascelli (co-writer/ director) A gang of kidnappers are menacing a small town, and the new Commissioner doesn't want to go along with ransom demands. It's got a Stelvio Cipriani score. Exciting! 🎶 📽 #Poliziesco #Filmsky #ItalianCrimeFilms
