- Let’s be honest Mandelson was appointed mostly because it was known he swam in the same swamps as Trump. No they didn’t know he spilled state secrets, but they did know he spoke Trump’s language. We all knew it and thought it could be clever. Stop revising history.

- 2019. Nothing we have learned in the last couple of days is new. It doesn’t lessen its seriousness but it isn’t new info. We knew all this about Mandelson 7 years ago!!
- The public were aware of everything that Starmer was aware of back in 2019 (inc. him staying at his house)as it was all in a Channel 4 Dispatches episode. So the media need to stop the pearl clutching. They also knew.
- The media class build people when they want to. It was public knowledge at this point that Mandelson was friends with Epstein.

- The presenter Stig on Times Radio getting furious when it’s pointed out by Steve Reed that they were happy to have Mandelson as a podcast host. Stig tries to say he was just a guest. Reed points out he was a host. He was. Did @thetimes.com know he was friends with Epstein? Double standards here.
- This is the main problem. Anyone who had an ongoing relationship with Epstein after his conviction should have immediately been discounted.
