- Reposted by EverbrightMore to come on this; the rule makes a number of other changes to the Board of Immigration Appeals process (such that it will exist should this rule go into effect in 30 days without a court order blocking it). But top line; it's quite bad! public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2026-02326.pdf
- Reposted by EverbrightCORRECTION: This rule does not go into effect tomorrow, it goes into effect 30 days after tomorrow. My apology.
- Reposted by EverbrightThe appeal to the federal circuit court ALSO costs $600. So now anyone who loses in immigration has to pay $1,000 to be automatically denied in nearly every case, and then $600 to seek an emergency stay of their imminent deportation. AND THIS APPLIES EVEN TO PEOPLE IN DETENTION.
- Reposted by EverbrightThe Trump admin is ALSO changing the rules so that rather than 30 days to file a Notice of Appeal, people will now only have 10 days (in most cases). That's just 10 days to find $1,000 and appellate counsel for an appeal the government says it will likely automatically deny!

Heat is a HUGE problem because to get rid of heat you need to get it to GO somewhere, and there is nowhere for it to GO in space.

- Reposted by EverbrightOpinions are divided as to whether Shakespeare wrote an early draft that was then edited by others, was a full collaborator, or was called in later to "punch it up," a common practice then as now. Anyway, Munday, Chettle, et al: knew what they were about. And so does Sir Ian.
- Reposted by EverbrightContext: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday. It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
- Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue
