- A civil activist, Tamila Mearakishvili has been arrested in Tskhinvali by the occupying de facto regime. She is accused of “espionage” and faces up to 20 years in prison. Her relatives fear she is being held in inhumane conditions and warn that her life may be in danger. #Georgia
- According to her friends and family, Tamila was the only voice openly speaking out about abuses and everyday injustices under occupation.
- Days after his release, opposition leader Zurab Japaridze is being targeted again. Prosecutors now seek bail over the absurd charge of “assisting hostile foreign activities.” The call came the same day Coalition For Change urged 9 intl bodies to investigate alleged chemical attacks on protesters.
- It’s been 7 days since the @BBC ‘s investigative film and Ivanishvilis’ Georgian Dream party still has not told us what chemicals they sprayed on us during the 2024 #GeorgiaProtests
- 🧵 One day after the BBC investigation was released, I am still shaken as a Georgian, as a civilian, and as a jurist by the findings regarding the alleged use of camite during the recent #GeorgiaProtests in Tbilisi. youtu.be/z4-koO916Gk?...
- Even though I’ve spent years openly saying GD is a non-democratic force and I’ve personally witnessed brutal crackdowns, the idea that a substance with SUCH SEVERE and long-lasting effects might have been deployed against us is not just disturbing, it’s horrifying. And most importantly-it’s a crime
- These allegations must therefore be treated with absolute seriousness. Georgia needs a transparent, independent, scientifically and legally grounded investigation. At this point, international expertise, including the OPCW, is essential. Anything less undermines public trust and our collective future.
- I often say that you can read thousands of books, legal texts, or historical accounts but realizing that dystopia is no longer theoretical but real, is something far more painful.
- BBC reports evidence Ivanishvili’s regime used WWI-era “camite” (Bromobenzyl cyanide) in water-cannons against protesters, causing long-lasting harm. Since April 9, 1989, no chemical weapons had been used on Georgian civilians. If true, a grave crime by Ivanishvili & GD. www.bbc.com/news/article...
- Ivanishvili’s regime arrested 26 citizens within a few hours. #TerrorinGeorgia
- 🇬🇪 In last two days Georgian Dream party arrested 14 protesters and put one of them in “compulsory psychiatric care”. However despite their repression Rustaveli avenue remains blocked.
- Today the regime arrested journalist Keta Tsitskishvili for allegedly blocking the road during protest. Take a look at her expression - Do the regime really think that they can frighten Keta or other brave Georgian people? #TerrorinGeorgia #GeorgiaProtests

- BREAKING: Ivanishvili’s Chief Prosecutor confirms that homes of former PM Irakli Garibashvili, former State Security Service head Grigol Liluashvili, former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze, and 5 others were searched this morning. #Georgia
- Authorities seized electronic devices, documents, and cash. The raids were part of the ongoing State Security Service investigation.
- 1/6 ⚠️ New Repressive Laws Passed in Georgia - Key Risks Yesterday, Georgian Dream party rushed through and signed into law a series of highly restrictive bills that severely limit the right to protest and political participation. Here are the 🧵 of the most alarming parts:
- 2/6 1. Criminalization of Protest: Covering your face with a mask, blocking a road, or even setting up a temporary structure at a rally can now lead to up to 15 days in jail and 20 days if you are an organizer.
- 3/6 2. From Administrative to Criminal Offenses: If any of these acts are repeated within a year, they become criminal offenses, punishable by up to 1 year in prison, or up to 4 years if committed by an organizer with “serious consequences.”

- “In the case file there are clothes that I wore, but they did not include the shirt, which was bloodstained. I will not speak further about the torture I endured, how they blackmailed me, threatened me, and tortured me… I finished, Your Honor,” said Archil Museliants in his final court statement.

- 1/2 We are at the court hearing of prisoners of conscience - Temur Zasokhashvili and Davit Lomidze. Both asked the judge to deliver an objective ruling. Both are innocent. But Ivanishvili’s Judge Nino Galustashvili sentenced them to 4 years and 6 months in prison. #TerrorinGeorgia
- 2/2 Today is Temur’s birthday. On his own birthday, he was forced to hear a verdict handed down by the regime. After delivering the verdict, Galustashvili said: “You can request a pardon.” The boys replied: “There will be no request for pardon.” #TerrorinGeorgia #GeorgiaProtests
- 2/3 For 16 years, 🇷🇺 has tried to rewrite this truth: claiming it acted “after” Georgia, spinning aggression as defense, and framing war as “peacekeeping.” But facts matter. Dates matter. Lives lost matter. When we echo their false narrative, even unknowingly, we help the aggressor hide its crime.
- 3/3 Today, we remember the truth. We remember the lives taken. We remember the invasion that began on August 7 And we will never forget. #Augustwar #RussiaIsATerroristState
