- always think it's really charming when I see a cool game trailer from an unknown indie dev that got some traction behind it and I check the developer's steam page/webstie and their only other game is something like PUPPY'S PIZZA FIGHT

- speaking of which I always found the narratives around undertale's soundtrack very funny. "toby fox used SOUNDFONTS in FL STUDIO!!" as if that's some sort of technical miracle. soundfonts are just a container for samples and fl is one of the most powerful music creation tools ever created.
- I love the undertale soundtrack but those were not hurdles lol
- retro games never used "soundfonts". they either had a synth chip, or used their own format to store samples. soundfonts are a specific modern containers for samples.
- You can say "mario 64 soundfont" when someone samples instruments from mario 64 and puts it in a soundfont container like slz or sf2. n64/snes/genesis/etc did not "use soundfonts".

- I liked Neely's video on AI slop. If nothing else it's one of the better framings of what the technofascist billionaire class is doing, and actually speaks to a lot of the reasons why AI is bad instead of treating it like some sort of dogmatic truth. However...
- I think his conclusion is terrible lol. he's clearly coming at it from a working jazz musician, and frames live music as being the saving grace to music as an artform. He's also coming from a place that suggests people won't make art anymore because of AI.
- The idea that people are going to abandon recorded music because of some lack of trust or ability to distinguish art made by humans is absurd. There is so much art and craft outside of performing musicians, and in Adam's view, they're only worth being nodded at as a step to live performance.
