- 🚀 I'm excited to announce I'm on the #EconSky job market this year! In my #EconJMP, I study the dynamic treatment effects of student financial aid. 🎓💸 I find that student financial aid can crowd-in future aid, and that this drives a large part of its long-term benefit.
- Dynamics matter. 🧐 Previous research has shown aid can crowd in or crowd out other aid, but this is hard to measure because you need to observe all aid programs. Most estimates are static. But what if aid receipt affects future aid receipt? 🤔
- To study this, I use the Latvian 🇱🇻 higher education context. It's a setting where for >90% of students there are only two aid programs: 1️⃣ Tuition waivers, 2️⃣ Stipends (on top of waivers). Crucially, both are competitively reassigned every semester based on student GPA.

- Tiem, kuriem rodas jautājums par to, kā vairākas Latvijas universitātes ir iekļuvušas top 500. Ieskats no jaunā reitinga pirmā gada. Cik skatījos, tad diži nekas daudz nav mainījies, ja nu tikai vairāk iestādes piedalās.
