- maybe a searing hot take but I take power-scaling to be more like, a metagame, rather than anything you're supposed to expect out of a coherent story bc after a certain point it becomes fundamentally anti-art
- it's obvious after a certain point the power threshold being so high in Dragonball limits what exactly they can do in the story. Once blowing up planetary bodies is established very early on there's now very few ways to display how powerful a character is besides how they compare to other characters
- listening to dragon ball-specific youtubers talk about the show each time just makes me go "wait, you guys actually care about power scaling consistency. I thought it was all a joke."
- How are you supposed to explain to people how this entire social, political, and economic reality is entirely downstream from anime getting banned on some dipshit's forum 25ish years ago

- type of shi written by manga authors between their anecdotes about wanting to die so they'll be reborn in the right body and how they designed their heroines with tears as a funeral dirge for what they could never become and u still cant say The Obvious without risking a pipe bomb in your mail
