Fortnite skins are just digital Funko Pops, and there’s gonna be a day where people go “wait, those things were actually a big deal?”
I disagree because I've seen through my son how much joy the Fortnite skins (and even the battle pass) can bring, especially to, say, an autistic 8yo whose hyperfixation is Fortnite or Marvel or both. I rarely see anyone who's super passionate about a Funko Pop, if you drill right down to it.
Fortnite skins are like costuming, or an action figure collection, in a way that Funkos will never really be; those things all look borderline indistinguishable from one to the next. It's like comparing a Lego set to a PEZ dispenser.
