Weird request: I'm looking for good movies (especially indie) where seemingly "nothing happens" in that the story is character focused, small, emotional, bearing witness to a human being. My mind goes to Brittany Snow's recent directorial debut "Parachute." Other examples please.
Train Dreams is the most recent that I’ve seen. It’s larger in production but very small and personal in terms of story.
Two that are just one character for the whole thing.
Locke is just Tom Hardy in a car and on the phone.
The episode of Bojack Horseman called “Free Churro” is a single 30 min speech by an animated character.
Both work against all odds.
