- A neat update on a topic I posted about last year. This time they've detected Cornish tin in bronze ingots found in 3300 year old ship wrecks off the coast of Israel.
- The Times published an article last Saturday on our archaeological excavations on St Michael’s Mount. How Britain’s earliest export transformed the ancient world www.thetimes.com/article/9464...
- Hey its me.
- Never a bad time to return to Eno's Thursday Afternoon. youtu.be/pZ6V8pH4HPY?...
- And thanks to @jaytholen.net for promoting Brian Eno all those years ago on the other place. Has it really been ten years already?
- Some cool Innkeep news: A world map is being made for the game by the master map maker @salvaterra.bsky.social! As somebody who grew up on tolkien and loved to draw my own silly fantasy world maps, it's crazy to see a professional render this world. It really helps makes it feel more real, somehow.
- This is shaping up to be a generational "I told you so."
- Ah the old "would like to enjoy a game but can't stop analyzing the UI" gamedev problem.
- Maybe we should just make IRC a thing again. #Gamedev IRC? Or even better, gamedev MUD. Different rooms for different subjects. Some kind of ability to see past chat history via a scribe mob of some kind.
- Surely discord's days are numbered now.
- Cairn is good. Very good even.
- I'll say this: It really respects the intelligence of the player. There are many little intentional learning moments in the level design, but often they are very subtle. You'll figure something out, but you still can entertain the possibility that it's -you- who was clever about what you did.
- Leibniz, 300 years ago: "You met me at a very Chinese time of my life."
- This looks interesting. www.amazon.com.au/Leibniz-Chin...
