I post about my thoughts and hyperfixations. Pumpkin art when it's the time of the year.
- >watch random youtube poop >random n-word with the hard R directed at black character >instantly block channel
- I'm doing so much growing every year, which I think is good because I know people who don't and will never become better people, but I do wonder if I can eventually reach a point at which I am wise and have th opportunity to just learn what I want without distractions.
- Year after year I'm reminded of my shortcomings and I work on fixing them and I just want it to be over. I wanna be in a spot I can comfortably stay in and take it easy for a while. Not be faced with difficult decisions again and again.
- First full combo I got. Shit hand combo tho so no AAA score
- I actually got reminded to read "The Death of the Author" and so I did. I didn't quite understand everything, because damn does this use difficult language and abstract points, but I think I get the gist. I also realized Mr. Cynical is a fucking dick one again.
- Few people got me worked up more over the years tbh. Like his whole deal was that believed in objectivity and the author's intent and he aggressively dismissed this essay and I think I get it now. The dude's whole ideology got undermined by it which threatened his integrity.
- His whole approach to criticism was to figure out what the author intended and present his opinion as the objectively correct one. He's also a devout capitalist. So an essay asserting that putting authorial intent on a pedestal is capitalist bogus that doesn't work metaphysically threatens him.
- Man this dude was just so obsessed with asserting his ideologies as the fabric of the universe. What a fucking weirdo.
- For context: SynthV trains its models on voices that were consensually provided, it is used to pitch shift and fine tune aspects that are not humanly doable to this degree instead of automating the creation of entire songs and doesn't threaten to replace the voice providers' jobs.
- I'm not sure how the technical aspect of it works, but I didn't see anyone talking about any controversy either. So people can in fact be reasonable when it comes to genAI and are aware it doesn't have the problems of ChatGPT or Midjourney or whatever.
- I've seen some people argue people who are against genAI often argue against it religiously and lack nuance. I've seen this take multiple times when people defended TH20's use of it. Insinuating that anti-AI sentiment is unreasonable and some cases are fine because the topic is nuanced.
- Frankly I don't buy it. People are actually quite reasonable about it, seeing as I've not seen many people criticize SynthV's AI use for example and it is generally agreed to be uncontroversial. I have yet to see a good argument for why Adobe is fine doing it though.
- Idk it makes me think these people are being the unreasonable ones, seeing as they don't actually engage with the arguments and are clearly wrong that people religiously reject all genAI use outright.
- You can tell a youtuber doesn't have a profound understanding of a problem when they bust out google definitions to make a point about how stupid someone else is.
- Something strange to me is how Star Wars is sci-fi but never really goes into detail about the "sci" because it is almost entirely focused on mythology. I'm sure there's lore books explaining it, but from all the media I've seen, the space ships can fly because they just can.
- We do see the occasional resource management and even a farm and several factories at some point, but a lot of stuff just "is" without explanation. Because it doesn't really matter how it works.
- oh my fucking god it hits even closer to home than I thought oh god oh fuck
- Getting A-ranks a lot now. Gaming
