- I didn't think I'd feel this way, but I am finding the prospect of a self-governing community whose organizational backbone seems to be a bunch of church-going Lutherans to be more appealing than a Seattle-style hipster-based self-governing community.

- The founding generation was well aware of the potential for militaries to flout local laws, including when stationed domestically; they also knew that any laws governing military behavior had to include a mechanism for that law's enforcement. Hence their preference for the well-regulated militia.
