- Over the course of my career, I've had two different people who took a chance on me, and invested in me and my career growth. It was (and is) completely life-changing.
- I have also been fortunate enough to have been able to help two others, who have both told me that my help for them was life-changing. I went and told my people, and the ones I helped came back and told me.
- Have you gotten this kind of help from anyone in your life? If you have, I highly recommend telling them so. Sharing your thankfulness for that help just encourages everyone involved to continue to try keeping it going. It can also be some much-needed encouragement. 🙏
- The longer I work in tech, the more I want to own all the content I create. The platforms are nice, but in the end, you still end up being beholden to them. Are they going to censor you if you say something they don't like?
- Platforms are definitely a good thing, to get you reach... but here today, gone tomorrow. It's a thing. You might have a good thing today, and then get stuck behind ads or a paywall.
- You should own all the content you create.
- Unless you've been sleeping under a rock, you know that business is moving online. If you want to do business online, and you haven't set up any branding / identity, you're doing it wrong.
- Trust and reputation are the most valuable things you've got at the end of the day.
- People will do business with you if they trust you and if they've done business with you before!
