in most fandoms ive been in, i was ( usually ) the only indigenous person i knew. i think on tumblr, i only met 2 or 3 others, and i have been told to my face that my ntv ocs "didn't make sense" to be in many of those spaces. not here. i get to tell MY stories here. [cont.]
I don't like to doom scroll on here especially with my current reality eating away myself from the inside.
FF14 is a way for me to take my mind from this depressing time, and has helped move forward as the spark in the dark.
To you players, what/who was your motivation to keep playing?

and over the years i've met so many amazing indigenous people to tell them alongside. angel, esten, gris, naomi, bernie, crow, and others. even just being on the periphery of those i don't know as well. it's been a gift.
Feb 3, 2026 22:58even dawntrail, for all its problems, gave me a little hope in seeing indigenous characters and stories included in the bright spotlight of a franchise as massive as final fantasy. it doesn't happen often. not at this level.
i'm less tied to the game itself and more to the playground it's given me and the community it's given me, truthfully. not just my cuzzins, of course -- but also the people who write w me, play w me, pose w me. mugen, heaven, aleta, avery, mell, joel, ry, gabi, alex, taro, all y'all and WAY more.
you're what keeps me here.
