- Carlton Carl was one of the first board members I got to know when I joined the Observer in 2017. He hosted the staff at his Martindale home after a retreat about a month after I started the job. He opened his home and his scotch collection to us, in true Carlton fashion...
- Carlton cared deeply for the @texasobserver.org & always supported staff. The TXO community is feeling his loss today and will continue to for the weeks and months to come. We'll have more to come about Carlton, but for now, read this interview from our 70th: www.texasobserver.org/carlton-carl...

- Reposted by Loren LynchI subscribe to the Texas Observer, and I have to say it’s pretty cool that the first headline story is about workers in my hometown fighting for a union. If you live in Texas subscribing to the Observer is a must. They do amazing work.
- Reposted by Loren LynchUPDATE: a spokesperson from JP Morgan Chase told the @texasobserver.org they fired the operator of a neo-Nazi X account who we identified as their employee. "This person is no longer at the firm. We do not tolerate hate in any form and take incidents such as this very seriously."
