- New fiscal year, new shop. Check out all the new swag at shop.npr.org. Some really fashion forward stuff, and I believe this is only the beginning. Great job everyone!

- Reposted by Jason GrosmanHi, everyone. As you probably know, NPR lost its federal funding this year. So NPR Music is trying something new to keep the music playing: Tiny Desk Donations on YouTube. If you’ve ever enjoyed our little series that could, please consider showing your support 2day: www.youtube.com/live/Q2CW9TZ...
- For those of you asking where your donation can do the most good, this site is your answer. It's gonna take this kind of quick, creative problem-solving to keep public media working for everyone.
- Last month, Congress voted to end public media’s federal funding. Now, local stations across the country are at risk of going dark. That’s why we built adoptastation.org — a simple way to support a station in need. Adopt one. Spread the word. Save public media.
- Wrote up a little RIP to a piece of work software that I've been working on for 20+ years. www.linkedin.com/posts/jason-...
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanBelow are prices for different streaming services. Subscriptions range from $7.99/month to $95.99/month. These are *required* payments. YOU CAN DONATE ANY AMOUNT YOU WANT TO YOUR NPR/PBS STATIONS. YOU’LL GET WAY MORE FROM THEM. THEY ARE PUBLIC SERVICES. INVEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY, NOT BILLIONAIRES.
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanThere are actually a lot of journalists out there doing their jobs. All day, every day. Just look at the sites of any major newspaper, magazine or NPR.org.
- NPR got a shoutout for adding the funding tag to podcast feeds. Nice when we can do something simple that might have a big impact. podnews.net/update/podca...

- Reposted by Jason GrosmanTomorrow, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on whether or not to claw back federal funding for public media. Now is the time to act. Urge Congress to preserve one of America's greatest resources. It takes 20 seconds to send a letter to your lawmakers here: n.pr/3FAzQlq
- There's a lot going on with politics and public media, but NPR bringing back the intern program is a strong endorsement and investment in the next generation. Share, if you have a young person in your life who might be interested. www.npr.org/about-npr/18...
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanIf you’re one of the thousands who gave this month – THANK YOU! We love reading your comments about the role public media plays in your life, and are proud to be here for you. If you haven’t had a chance to donate, please give what you can now: n.pr/3EYClNR
- Even if I didn’t work there, I would still support public media as an alternative to for-profit news and cultural programming. Sharing this as far as possible.
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanYou count on the NPR Network. Today, supporters like you are donating and sharing what #PublicMediaGives to their communities that no other news service can. - Reposted by Jason GrosmanToday is the day: We've officially launched Tiny Desk Radio, hosted by the great and good Bobby Carter and Anamaria Sayre! Here, they break down the series' origins and long history with the aid of a few creaky old-timers:
- I really enjoyed this one. Sharing it so I can come back to watch it again.
- My colleague Tom Huizenga, NPR's classical music critic, has really brought this week: First, Julia Bullock, now Sandbox Percussion at the Tiny Desk. Come for the wine glass quartet, stay for the wildest use of four-handed palm muting on vibraphone that I've ever seen. www.npr.org/2025/03/28/g...
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanME BEFORE WATCHING THIS AD: sorry be a scold but that's kinda homophobic ME AFTER WATCHING IT: oh it's a literal thing the guy actually said. huh
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanSome professional news: We're launching Tiny Desk Radio in one month! Just for NPR stations! I'm editing the show! Which is actually part of my new job as the editor of Tiny Desk! VIDEO ON THE RADIO. www.npr.org/2025/03/14/g...
- Madness, I say! Up is down! Left is Right! Dogs and cats living together!
- 🐝 Attention Hivemind! 🐝 The letter S has finally made it into today’s Spelling Bee puzzle! How many words can you make with 7 letters? Play here: nyti.ms/41VJFm9
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanLook, I'm as baffled by it as you are, but somehow All Songs Considered, @npr.org's first-ever "Internet-only" show and first-ever podcast, is 25 years old. Let's take a walk down memory/music lane. W/ @idislikestephen.bsky.social www.npr.org/2025/03/04/1...
- This feels like the Spelling Bee is trolling me.
- Brand new opening at NPR! Great opportunity to think outside the box and make a big difference. job-boards.greenhouse.io/nationalpubl...
- NPR's looking for more help, on the product side, to continually improve the donation experience for NPR and local stations. Plus, you get to work on my team! And see Tiny Desk concerts! job-boards.greenhouse.io/nationalpubl...
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanMany of the major winners who picked up trophies on music's biggest night have graced the Tiny Desk. Watch their performances here.
- I had a chance to write a blurb about the upcoming Professor Layton game on the Switch. www.npr.org/2025/01/13/g...
- My kids are too old and missed out on Yo Gabba Gabba, but this was a really fun show.
- It's the most wonderful time of the year! Going through my inbox and clicking unsubscribe on everything. I didn't realize how bad my inbox had gotten until I was reading this great post about how much companies are desperate for your "engagement". www.wheresyoured.at/never-forgiv...
- NPR is looking for someone to help the digital trains run on time. job-boards.greenhouse.io/nationalpubl...
- This is pretty cool! NPR's getting some recognition from the early days of podcasting, specifically calling out Maria Thomas, who was the head of Digital Media at the time. That was the first project I worked on when I started there. It was a great team. podnews.net/press-releas...
- I'm a big fan of Balatro. Amazing for a game essentially made by just one guy. And AstroBot as GOTY! Big night for the more casual games out there. www.npr.org/2024/12/13/g...
- Today’s NYT Spelling Bee is taunting Java developers for some reason. What did we ever do to you?
- Doom hit at exactly the right moment for me. Kids trading floppy disks with games your parents would be aghast at. The slim but ever present fear of a computer virus infecting your computer. Realizing that you could build upon the game to make your own thing. We had it good back then, right?
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanI remember them! Having an HQ in a junkyard seemed so cool, and all the secret ways in and out were neat. Them and Encyclopedia Brown taught me to think about stuff and try to see the logic in a situation.
- Someone dropped off The Three Investigators #2 at the Little Free Library we put up, and I immediately went nostalgic. One of those old book series that 90% of people have never heard of, but those who know have fond memories of it. Let me know if you remember this one.
- Reposted by Jason GrosmanPublic radio journalists of Bluesky, please take note and help spread the word: We're working on an episode about what the current threats to funding for public media would mean for your community. - Today's Advent of Code problem is giving me flashbacks to the DOS filesystem, FAT, and defragging hard drives. Those were the days, when a kid with Norton Utilities on a floppy was the hacker elite among the nerd set.

- Getting up early on a Saturday morning to watch a bunch of super enthusiastic high schoolers show their stuff at a robotics competition. Kids these days… are still pretty cool.
- The piano was being tuned in preparation for today’s Tiny Desk concert at NPR. It can be a bit grating but it always reminds me of one of my favorite April Fools. youtu.be/uQAQg7F89DY
