- How disappointing. Couldn't schools teach at least one book from the 21st century? I read all but one of these in the 1990s. One thing I have looked forward to as a parent is reading new school books with my son, not having "The Great Gatsby" forced on me AGAIN. (I read it twice. Despised it twice.)
- We've seen so many painful, sad stories out of the Camp Mystic tragedy. Something about this one, heavy with the voice of a brave 14-year-old named Amelia Moore, really got to me, though. Kudos also to my WSJ colleagues for the writing and the presentation. www.wsj.com/articles/cam...

- I went on a tour of Reading Terminal Market Thursday (100% recommend; $25 for 45 minutes of tidbits and snacks). Our guide told us about the contest behind the blueberry muffin cookie at Famous 4th Street Cookie. I researched the baker, and what a neat story! www.altoonamirror.com/news/local-n...

- I said I’d be gushy this week between figure skating and baseball, and here I am for more skating love. It’s wonderful to see Alysa Liu again. She left on her own terms, she had a life off the ice, and she came back a more complete skater. Read about it. www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/m...
- A moving tribute at #worldfigure for the skating community who died in the Flight 5342 crash. I liked seeing videos as well as photos on and off the ice of each skater and coach.
- Alysa Liu, please keep your relaxed, serene, beautiful short program for the Olympic season. That is all.
- World Figure Skating Championships have begun! I so wish I were in Boston. In the meantime, I'll obsessively follow @rockerskating.com and read great features such as this Amber Glenn one. I knew of her use of neurotherapy but didn't understand how it worked until now. www.wsj.com/sports/amber...
- I used to arrange my weekends around March Madness. I watched in groups, and once I became a mom ... well, you can't bring a baby to a bar. Now I barely care. However, I am bouncing-in-my-seat excited for #WorldFigure (in Boston!) and opening week of baseball! Expect gushy posts on both this week.
- I'm the back half of Gen X, though not quite an Xennial, but I have a harder and harder time relating to fellow Gen Xers as I near 50. Did we all forget when our reading and music were censored in our teen years? Did we block out when people were cruel? Why did so many become the people we hated?
- The new Nationals City Connect uniforms aren’t that bad. I’d give them a B. It’s just that the gray cherry blossom ones were the best ones in MLB. I even bought an $88 sweatshirt with the design, and I’ve never spent that much on a sweatshirt before or since!
- I am watching "The Residence" on Netflix. It's quirky, curious and silly, the type of show that "tickles the funny bone," as the cliche goes. I've smiled and chuckled but haven't doubled over laughing. Until Kylie Minogue. She caused me to laugh out loud, hard. www.thewrap.com/the-residenc...
- For decades, people at a Philly Macy’s heard twice-a-day free concerts on the world’s largest pipe organ. Imagine, “Hallelujah” as you shop! Music has boomed here since 1911, but the store closes this weekend. I stopped by March 11 to bid farewell to the Wanamaker Organ. What a unique experience!

- I didn't write much on the other site, but I'll follow T-Lo's advice and try here. I read an Inquirer feature about the "Big Cookie" trend that ended with the antidote: Famous 4th Street Cookie. YES. Its peanut butter treat is my favorite cookie from anywhere. Sugar cookies are awesome, too.
- It isn’t my imagination — it *has* been extra windy this year. The last line of this article made me wail internally. It’s the end of March, not the end of November! Gusts to 40 mph are possible Friday in Philly. This year has been especially windy. www.inquirer.com/weather/phil...
