- The Ram's Horn Squid (Spirula spirula) is the only living member of the order Spirulida. Its internal shell has a unique spiral shape, like a ram's horn. The shell is quite buoyant and often washes on to beaches, even though we didn't see a live Spirula in its natural habitat until 2020!
