- Where are you @thamesvalleypolice.bsky.social ?
- @badlyparkedox.bsky.social Parked right across the pavement at a pedestrian crossing. Four fit young men unloading gear(?) for a gig. There was space to park around the corner and they were fit enough to carry it. There for ten minutes.
- Rymer's Lane showing gas works, heading South this morning by Flo's. I thought @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social had a policy against Cyclists Dismount signs? Particularly pointless ones like this? There was plenty of room both for cyclists and pedestrians.
- I'll just get my tiny violin. And hope that this man is as compassionate and understanding to other MPs if they find themselves in this situation. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- Reminder to everyone: If a web page asks you to open PowerShell or press the windows key and "R" it is not a quick fix, it is not an urgent patch. It's a burglary where you open the door and let the criminal in. Don't fall for it. (from a LinkedIn post by the CEO of EscapeVelocity)
- To all motorised vehicle drivers: I'm not apologising for using the main carriageway rather than the ungritted and icy cycle path today. You only get to the next queue quicker if you barge past me. Be patient. Be safe. It's -4 degrees C !
- Utter incoherent gibberish. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2571424... Needs Specsavers if he can't see how those of may different faiths and none live in Oxford in peace and harmony and have done so for years. Perhaps a look at events like this might teach him something too oxcof.org.uk/friendship-w...
- Anyone up for Beer and Carols at the Marsh Harrier in Cowley on Saturday at 6pm? Would be fun to see you there.
- A very car and driver centric article. My 9 year old Ford Ka+ has a speed limit. Don:t almost all cars since then have them? They are really very easy to use and definitely save lives. BBC News - Evan Davis: Why so many people break 20mph speed limits - BBC News www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- I am amazed that there are not more injuries to cyclists given the almost criminally dangerous design of the sick joke that is "access to Headington". It would be better called "access to the emergency department". Shame on @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social! www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2545916...
- How nice of the car-addicts to give Layla some extra publicity. Comments not exactly going their way either! www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2564445...
- I wonder why @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social bin emptiers have turned my driveway (just the bit to the right of the line down the middle) into an LTN and removed the actual street LTN bollard. Not helpful when visitors in a car are about to arrive.
- Yes Yes Yes Yes! @thamesvalleypolice.bsky.social please take note in Oxford and everywhere!
- Could you join my Cyber Security Team in auditing and providing assurance on cyber security controls around @ox.ac.uk? We're looking for someone with appropriate experience and can offer a lively and stimulating work environment. Salary to £63.5k, closes 12 Nov. my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecru...
- Once again "car and cyclist", not "car and bicycle" or "driver and cyclist". The bias in local rags like @theoxfordmail.bsky.social is incredible. I'm glad there were no serious injuries, and happy to see "crash" rather than "accident" used to describe it. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2554795...
- One for your diary. A very good cause. oxfordshirehomelessmovement.org/article/ohm-...
- Happy Black History Month. Have a look at www.blackhistorymonth.org.uk where I think you'll find some excellent reading and learning, particularly in the features section.
- Reposted by Tony BrettI’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Ignore the haters, London is the 🐐
- One of the best debunks of populist nonsense I've seen for a long time. Particularly disappointed in my MP over this. She's normally very good!
- Why are these here on Little Clarendon Street @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social ? I thought you had a policy that proscribed these signs?
- Extremely loud awful music and diesel fumes are pumping in through my office window. What's the point of St Giles fair at this time of day when kids are back at school and people are trying to work?
- The Lisbon funicular disaster is shocking and tragic. My heart goes out to all those who have been seriously injured or lost loved ones. It's interesting that the number of deaths is about 1% of the number of people killed on UK Roads in a year. That's life loss as above each and every four days.
- Absolutely spot on.
- Reposted by Tony BrettIt’s the question we’re all asking…
- Fancy a job in Cyber in @ox.ac.uk? We are looking for an incident response lead and the deadline is only three days away. £48,235 - £57,255 with a discretionary range up to £62,407 per annum. Hybrid working possible with min 2-3 days per week onsite. my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecru...
- Great weekly from @oxfordclarion.bsky.social but I think that if someone is arrested, goes to hospital then goes into police custody (re 21 year old driving into flats on St Aldates) they are discharged from hospital rather than released aren't they?
- www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/driving... I wonder how many of the nearly 30,000 killed or seriously injured (of which over 1600 died) were caused by cyclists...
- How can stuff from 1995 be in a museum? Surely that's just wrong. It was only a couple of years ago wasn't it?
- Reposted by Tony BrettDouble yellow lines? “Nah, don’t worry about it” A segregated bike lane? “Nah, don’t worry about it” These dockless vehicles are out of control. Local councils should ban these motor cars from the roads until owners can be trusted to only use the designated parking bays
- How it was and how it should be. Tying the red emergency cord up like this can be life-threatening for a mobility impaired person who has fallen and cannot get up from the floor. Don't do it!
