- With the future of the A379 / Slapton Line near Torcross in Devon uncertain following recent storm damage, here's a few other disappearing roads you may want to ride before its too late...
- The spectacular Military Road on the Isle of Wight between Freshwater Bay and Compton Bay. Supposedly good for another few years, but that cliff is getting closer!
- The Broken Road aka A625 on Mam Tor, Derbyshire. Long closed to motor traffic as it slides down the 'shivering mountain', you can still ride up most of it. Highly recommended (and featured in m'book Lost Lanes Central England)

- Did you know that the first hub gear was a two-speed. William Reilly's The Hub (1898). The higher gear was a freewheel, the lower gear was fixed. Which makes a lot of sense, if you think about it.
- Round of applause for Specialized, ‘Carless Whisper’ has to be the best ever name for a cargo bike tyre.
