- This Cory’s Shearwater gave a very close fly-past on the Penzance pelagic. 🪶

- A shout of Cory’s went out and I looked up to see it hurtling towards me! Such a memorable experience aboard the Mermaid pelagic on Sunday. 🪶
- One of the many Wilson’s Storm Petrel seen from the Penzance pelagic. Such a challenge to photograph with the boat rocking about, and the speed they whizzed above the waves at. 🪶
- Had a fantastic Mermaid pelagic trip off Penzance on Sunday. The sight of 15 Wilson’s Storm Petrel “dancing” on the water was absolutely magical.
- Not something I’ve ever seen before, Spoonbills in the nest! On the north Norfolk coast a couple of weeks ago.
- Black-eared Wheatear (Eastern), from Cyprus in April. I’ve still not finished going through the photos, I really need to stop taking more until I’ve sorted the ones I’ve got!
- Some stunning spring/summer plumage Sanderling lingering on Titchwell beach this week.
- I spent a good couple of hours sat watching Redstart at Thursley Common, where several pairs were busy collecting food.
- Working nearby this morning meant I had the chance to try for the Woolbeding Honey Buzzards, couldn’t believe my luck when one did a close fly-by after 10 minutes wait. No further sign after 2 hours.
- A Little Owl soaking up the sun at North Cave Wetlands a couple of days ago.
- Two Black Terns on the Foxcote patch today, surprisingly present all day.
- My bro has done it, birding Nirvana, a self-found patch lifer. Hang up your bins!
- What a morning at Clifford Hill! Was content with a fly over Whimbrel and heading back home came across this Red-footed Falcon! Lifer on the local patch, absolute gold. #birds #ukbirding #northantsbirds

- I finally saw one of my dream birds in Cyprus last week. It’s always a great feeling seeing a species you’ve only ever looked at in field guides. Collared Pratincole at Akrotiri.
- Had a fantastic week in Cyprus, which started with the WP mega Lesser Moorhen.
- Went to try and get some shots of Barn Owls in Milton Keynes this evening, this one obviously wanted its photo taken 🤩
- The Foxcote patch is getting very noisy now with the Black-headed Gulls awaiting the return of the nesting rafts.
- Had to double take after clocking this Whooper at Floodplain Forest, Milton Keynes this morning. Not quite what I was expecting to see.
- It’s that time of year when the patch goes from the gentle whistling of Wigeon and Teal, to the raucous screeching of Black-headed Gulls getting ready to nest.
- Pleased to see my first Wheatear of the year in Bucks this afternoon. Amazing to think that I could be the first person in Europe to see it this year.
- American Wigeon from East Cottingwith this afternoon. A small pond in the middle of farm fields that also held 100+ Pinks and 5 White-fronted Geese! 🪶
