- Utrecht University abolishes its English language bachelor's program in economics and replaces it with a Dutch one. They told staff (~30% international) the week before Christmas. Layoffs seem likely now. Unwarranted lobotomy is the only word I can find for it... dub.uu.nl/en/news/econ...
- This is all due to nationalist pressure from The Hague to reduce the number of international students. With this decision, Utrecht gives in to this pressure. The independence of universities has been at risk for years. The flood gates are open now...
- I feel for all of my colleagues in Utrecht who spend Christmas worrying about their future. What's happening is just not okay!
