- I've just learned that 'dinkus' or 'fleuron' are typesetters' terms for section breaks in a book, ranking between paragraph and chapter breaks.
- I found this because I've just finished 'The Portrait' by Iain Pears, a writer whom I admire. It's written entirely as a first-person monologue with no chapter breaks, only fleurons. Intriguing. Does anyone know any other books written as continuous monologues?
- Mandelson aside, I'm surprised I'm not seeing more about the very obvious security risk posed by the Andrew formerly known as Prince being set up for a close encounter with a 'beautiful' unknown Russian woman.
