- Reposted by PsychoSerenityBREAKING: NO CONVICTIONS AS VERDICTS COME IN FOR FILTON24 TRIAL After 8 days of deliberation, the jury have not convicted Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Ellie (Leona) Kamio, Fatema Zainab Rajwani, Zoe Rogers and Jordan Devlin on any charge. Defend Our Juries comment to follow.
- No convictions from the Palestine Action Filton trial. After a year and a half in prison and the UK government treating them as terrorists, the jury didn't find them guilty of any of the charges.
- The government *should* immediately lift the ban on Palestine Action. However I suspect they're more likely to try to use this as further justification for removing juries. #DefendOurJuries
- Reposted by PsychoSerenityInspired by comments and private messages music artists receive when making overtly political statements on social media. FYI, we're not going to stop. Music is inherently political. People who don't realise that are not listening properly.
- Reposted by PsychoSerenityWe need your help to prevent democratic backslide in #Exeter 🚨 Please sign this petition to call on the council to strengthen local democracy, not by cancelling elections, but by adopting assemblies into their decision-making. - Reposted by PsychoSerenityAlmost 43,000 people have signed a petition calling for UK officials to end their prosecution of peaceful protestors. Police have made over 2700 arrests under the Terrorism Act 2000 for peacefully protesting the banning of Palestine Action in the UK. www.amnesty.org.uk/get-involved...

- Improved Exeter flood defences being somewhat tested today. A few feet higher and they'd need to close the gates. I've seen it this high before but not since the weir downstream of the quay was lowered.
- No matter how high they build the walls, if we don't stop climate change, and if we don't re-forest the moors and flood valleys up river, eventually the defences will fail.
- What's up, @bsky.app, is an entirely pointless user interface change that just takes up screen space.
- One more step towards a police state in the UK. The vast majority of "terrorism" and "organised crime" arrests over the last few years has been of peaceful protesters and nonviolent activists.

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityPeople find it hard to believe, but #PwME (and now, probably people with #longCOVID) have a worse quality of life than people with many other serious health challenges. This isn't to claim some sort of medal in the suffering Olympics, just a plea to take these diseases seriously. #disability

- Reposted by PsychoSerenity⚠️Cancellation of local elections confirmed. 🗣️Labour leader pledged to listen to the views of all cllrs before making a recommendation on whether elections should go ahead. 🚫But he failed to spell out to the Minister any of the concerns he heard. 0️⃣We can have zero confidence in Labour in Exeter.
- Reposted by PsychoSerenityGovernment confirms that the district council elections due in May will NOT be held. Labour was set to lose control of the council in May and Exeter is likely to return a Green MP in 2029. Councillors will instead serve for five years instead of three. A shocking abuse of power.

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityWarning from a geologist in 1979 that burning fossil fuels risks "famine and social & political upheaval" 👇 Yesterday, the UK Gov published a report acknowledging this - 47 years later. But they did so without any announcement. So very few people know. It's time for a televised briefing. #NEB2025

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityBREAKING: COURT OF APPEAL ERODES INDEPENDENCE OF JURIES The Court of Appeal has substantially eroded the independence of juries, a centuries-old democratic safeguard against the abuse of power, by ruling in favour of a judge who threatened a jury with criminal proceedings. 1/4
- I appreciate my new housemate making the effort to do a thorough clean of the kitchen on his second weekend here. Less so that he seems to have used and thrown away two washable, long-lasting, bamboo fabric cloths to do it, taken from an unopened packet of three that I was expecting to last years.
- We have available both single-use paper towels, and multi-use but non-woven cheap viscose cloths, that he hasn't used. Instead, from a packet that says "washable" & "long-lasting", he seems to have used and thrown away something that is made with at least the durability of a tea-towel. 🙄

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityToday many different community groups in Exeter stood together for the third time in the last six months to counter protest with a message of unity and tolerance. #devon #antifacist #exeter
- Obviously I wish we didn't have to, but being amongst a crowd of hundreds, singing in unison "There are many many more of us than you" at the few dozen fascists who decided to march through our city today, felt good. Exeter once again showing that refugees are welcome here & the far right are not.
- Reposted by PsychoSerenityOpposition parties in Exeter have put their political differences aside to urge the Local Government Minister to give the go-ahead for elections in the city in May.
- Reposted by PsychoSerenityClimate threats are significantly worse than thought even a few years ago - with 2°C now likely by 2050 without much more urgent action. - I hope they all recover. The whole situation is a stain on this country. Political prisoners, held without trial, treated as terrorists, all because they opposed the government's complicity with genocide.

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityAnother idiotic piece of climate reporting from the BBC. I can never tell if the editors are stupid or corrupted by right wing corporate influences that don't want change. We are in the midst of a human-charged planetary extinction. The BBC is not doing it's job and neither is Government.
- Local Labour controlled council seem intent on taking the excuse of council reorganisation to cancel our elections this year, as recommended by Starmer's government, because they don't want to lose. Reorganisation plans won't be in place until after elections due. Utterly unjustified & undemocratic.

- Reposted by PsychoSerenityThe government sits and watches as Heba dies. It's heartbreaking, horrible, almost impossible to compute.
