An inevitable part of ageing that I was still unprepared for, mentally, is when there's an entire generation that only knows your favorite athlete as a pundit or coach and has never seen them play.

Or the reverse, having hated Lleyton Hewitt as a player, but finding he is a decent commentator. There are people who will never understand that hatred.
