Fought #OnThisDay Battle of Stralsund, 31 May 1809. Major Ferdinand von Schill of the Prussian freikorps was invited to French-held Westphalia, to lead a rebellion. Schill had 1,490 troops & was pursued by French auxiliaries who attacked in a vicious urban assault.
