Yeah, and this is where child performers and child athletes are the most vulnerable. Because we are inherent people pleasers.
Back in the 90s, everybody used to think we were spoiled brats. But spoiled brats don’t get very far in those industries.
Add to that people-pleasing and rule-following and you get a pliant, silent victim who’s afraid to tell anyone else lest they get “in trouble“
I always assumed that the brat stereotype was something cultivated by directors in studio heads to dissuade child actors from making reasonable demands or advocating for themselves.
