- Continuing #CDFriday with these 1980s releases. A buck each! This John Barry Out of Africa soundtrack is fantastic. I was aware of the movie as a kid but have never seen it. Reminds me of the Sirens soundtrack, taking the listener to the movie locale and time.
- It’s #CDFriday on the other coast so sharing the calming soundtrack from today’s commute. One of several $1 bin CDs last weekend, purchased because of the CD influencers, @brucelevenstein.bsky.social and @bw500.bsky.social. More to come Friday proper.
- Last repost: I did also tell Johnny Marr that “Getting Away With It” was the greatest single of all time, so if he asks…
- I appreciate that they posted this at a reasonable time for us on the US Best Coast. Nevertheless, 18 minutes after is still too late to grab one. Missed out on the original deluxe, signed version, too.
- #TicketStubWed #MusicChallenge My two Sting concerts for the Soul Cages and Ten Summoner’s Tales tours. Concrete Blonde and Vinx opened in 1991. The web says Dada opened in 1993. These are just an excuse to post the rad 1985 tour program I grabbed this weekend.
- Me: Sends happy birthday message to international coworker whose name is on the company weekly birthday list. Coworker: Thanks, but my birthday is April 2nd.
- New to me but an instant nominee to the Synthpop Hall of Fame. Sounds mature and well-produced for 1983.
- What a song!
- What a fun watch! Hashtag Billy Mackenzie and The Associates, Pigbag, Beggars Banquet, Kevin Cummins
- Did UK sophistipop boy bands have beefs? Why else would Breathe name their 1988 album, All That Jazz, on the heels of Johnny Hates Jazz’s multiple singles in 1987?
- “Remember to breathe deeply when crying over your shattered dreams.”
