I keep thinking about how the Epstein stuff had largely faded out of mainstream politics and into meme-level territory before Bondi and Patel consciously decided to make it a big high-profile deal again last spring.
Dems had never focused on Epstein re: Trump. If Trump’s own appointees hadn’t hyped it up (and then very obviously tried to bury it when they realized what was inside), none of this would’ve come to light now, if ever.
Maybe there have been greater self-inflicted wounds in political history but I can’t think of one myself.
