- In other news, I’m masking in my living room in an attempt to avoid getting COVID. The virus managed to catch up with a family member this past weekend. He’s been super cautious for the past six years but his luck ran out. It’s frustrating that we continue to deal with the fallout of “you do you.”
- Weeding out my bookshelves so I can make room for the books I bought last year. This is a proving to be an emotionally demanding task. Which books to keep? Which books to donate? So many decisions.... 📚
- Dinner is served. 🦌
- Sunbeam appreciation photo from earlier today. (It was so great to spot a beam of sunshine streaming into the living room. I couldn't just take it for granted. I had to snap a photo.)
- “We have been sad, of course, but sadness is a passive emotion, and we haven’t marinated ourselves in grief or let ourselves lie down and remain scared and silent. The sense of community here has spontaneously given birth to productive rage. Mad means something.” 💗 lithub.com/letter-from-...
- This book sounds incredible. "THE ART OF LOOKING BACK is a meditation on the male gaze, on reclaiming one's younger self, and on agency: how we lose it, how we find it again. This poetic memoir asks questions about older men and younger women and girls, and the persistence of that dynamic in art."🔥
- Today was such a gift. I had some lovely conversations with my neighbours at the grocery store -- people I don't actually know but who struck up conversations with me nonetheless. I went snowshoeing twice and the trail conditions were absolutely perfect. I listened to some music I love. [1/2]
- I reflected on some ways I was able to make a difference this week through my volunteer work and how these efforts also helped *me.* My hopes and dreams for the world are beginning to eclipse my crushing dread about this time we're living through. I feel connected to projects that matter. [2/2] 💗

- "We are in a lot of trouble, and we need to move fast....It is not enough to hope for the best. We have to plan for the worst," writes @acoyne.bsky.social in @theglobeandmail.com. #GiftArticle 🎁 www.theglobeandmail.com/gift/a0344d6...
