Cool story. This song showed up on my Playlist during a 10th grade English class. All of the kids in it were "band kids." They all just stopped, got real quiet, and at the end of the song just were just so impressed with it that we ended up listening to the whole album afterward. This was 2023.

Mark Knopfler - absolutely amazing!!!

Not to mention the fact that performances didn’t have to be hyper-edited perfection! Mark misses a couple obvious notes in his solo but that doesn’t make him any less of a master. Compare that to all the fake instagram guitarists now who keep getting called out for miming their own songs. He’s real.

Awesome! My favorite band! My cousin and I used to yell at the radio stations when they cut off all Mark Knopfler's superb guitar work at the end.

Few in the 60's & 70's looked like CK models until hair bands in the 80's, don't you think? Back then if you said someone in a band was ripped it was about drug usage, not how their body looked.
